Remote Cooking Thermometers
These handy devices can be used in the oven
or barbeque grill to let the cook know that
the meat is done. They are battery operated,
wireless monitors. A probe is inserted into
the meat which sets off an alert when the
desired cooking temperature is reached.
The following should be considered
when buying
a remote cooking thermometer:
- How is the unit programmed? Do you need to
know the temperature of the cooked meat or
can you simply choose the type of meat and
how well you want it done?
- Does the unit beep or vocally alert the cook?
- How far away from the grill or oven will
the receiver work?
Remember to check to see if batteries are
