GE Bottom-Freezer Refrigerators
General Electric (GE) sells two lines of
household bottom freezer refrigerators.
(A
"bottom freezer" refrigerator
is
simply a unit with the freezer
located at
the bottom, below the fresh food
section).
- GE Energy Star - the lower priced models
and have only a 1 year parts and labor warranty.
- GE Profile Energy Star - the higher priced
models have more bells and whistles, such
as built in digital thermometers and a 5
year warranty on the cooling system. Some
of the larger models also offer french doors
(like those on a side-by-side unit).
Both lines offer pull-out or swing out freezer
doors, with the pull-out (drawer style) doors
adding about $200 to the price.
The refrigerators range from
19.5 to 22.3
cubit feet of total storage and
are available
in white, black, bisque, and
stainless steel.
All are Energy Star qualified,
which is an
important consideration because
a non-qualified
refrigerator can consume considerable
more
electricity and thus drive up
the cost of
ownership. |
