Hearing aid and tube cleaning and moisture
removing devices - highly overrated.
My wife has perfect hearing. She claims tht
she can hear the device humming when it is
on. It irritates her down to her soul. The
humidity is so high in new orleans, that
the drying package has to be changed or reactived
more than weekly. It always changed to the
saturation color in 3 to 5 days.
Others such as jars with beads are also a
headache. When the beads turn whitish, they
have to be inserted in our instant oven for
45 seconds. The jar with beads just doesn't
dry out the aid in the time available. I
wear my aids 18 hours a day or a bigger jar
of beads. Just use any old jar you have about
twice the size of the ones available and
buy allofthe beads you need.
The only surely successful choice
is a vacuum
system as the audiologists use.
I can't find
an affordable one. They can be
made small
and affordable.
How I SUCCEEDED - I use a hair drier. Hold
the drier 3 to 4 inches from the aid which
you hold in your hand to check temperature.
The distance depends on the drier setting.
I melted the housing on one by overheating
it.
