Question
Can a tooth be glued?
Responses
Editor's Note: We assume you are asking about a natural
tooth rather than part of a gear.
Adhesives play a prominent role in modern
dentistry, most frequently for bonding a
dental cap to a natural root or an implanted
metal post. Furthermore, the popularity of
"super glue" has, based on anecdotal
evidence, led some people to try to glue
back together broken natural teeth. We have
no information on the successfulness of this.
Our recommendation is that you consult with
your dentist. Personally, we would be wary
of using glue in any manner that might lead
to toxic ingestion or absorption that has
not been first tested for safety by people
knowledgeable in the field.
