By Robert Louis Wilken
This is a very readable study
of the development
of Christian thinking during
the early centuries
of the church's history. The
author is less
interested in explaining how
certain teaching
emerged than in showing how a
Christian intellectual
tradition developed. Indeed,
the author places
more emphasis on how early Christians
thought
about what they believed. This
is an atypical
approach, but highly illuminating. |
