Volleyball can be played indoors or outside
(on a hard court or on a sand court). Most
games involve between two and six players
on a team, but there are many variations,
each with its own set of rules.
The minimum equipment for playing
is a ball,
net, and boundary markings for
the court.
Antennae or net flags can help
to mark the
side boundaries of the court.
- volleyballs - the ball size is generally universal and
without strict guidelines for materials or
appearance, which allow a great variety of
volleyballs to choose from
- nets - nets range in quality from simple string
meshes to high durability materials including
aircraft quality steel cables. Selecting
a net is a matter of budget, anticipated
wear and useful life, and rectangular perfection
